He and his team developed a compact Dedicated Outdoor Air System that provides 100% fresh air for offices, schools and senior-care facilities. James sets the strategic direction for the company and leads the sales and marketing activities at Oxygen8.

James is active in the HVAC industry. He was a board member of the Home Ventilating Institute (HVI), a member of the AHRI ERV committee, and is a member of the Daikin North America Advisory Board (Konwakai). He’s currently a board member of Science World in British Columbia.

James has always had a passion for innovation, research and product development. He has a BaSc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. He is co-inventor on several patents.

Equally committed to the environment in his personal life, James recently built West Vancouver’s first net-zero energy Passive House. He was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 for achievements in business and community, and was a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Outside of work James enjoys climbing the mountains of BC, riding his bike and skiing or golfing with his teenage sons. One of James proudest achievements was summiting the Matterhorn in 2018 and is now enjoying his next challenge of building Oxygen8 into a leader in healthy and sustainable HVAC systems.
