Our Name

Nothing is more refreshing and essential to the human body than oxygen, which happens to be the eighth element on the periodic table. We oxygenate businesses, classrooms, senior care facilities, and more with 100% fresh, filtered air so people can work, live, and breathe in a safe and comfortable environment.
Our Journey
James Dean and Matthew Doherty found Oxygen8 after recognizing a gap in the market. A better approach to fresh air begins to take shape.
Our first unit is built in Toronto. A low-profile design, created to fit where others couldn’t. Originally named Nova Caeli (Fresh Air), Nova becomes Oxygen8’s flagship product.
Oxygen8’s first installation – Nova C24 and C30 with Daikin VRV (DX) – takes lace at the Monashee Residence at the University of British Columbia.
Oxygen8 opens its first BC-based production facility and brings assembly in-house to maintain quality, control, and the ability to meet demand quickly.
The Oxygen8 East and West Coast teams meet in person for the first time, laying the foundation for a unified and collaborative culture.
Oxygen8’s first Ventum unit, a counterflow core H/ERV, ships – marking the shift from a single solution to a growing portfolio of high-efficiency solutions.
En route to AHR 2022, the new Fresh Air Van hits the road, ready to showcase Oxygen8’s ventilation solutions to our Rep Partners and their engineers.
At our second offsite, the Oxygen8 team shows up – doubled in size. A visible moment of growth, while maintaining a shared sense of direction.
The Fresh Air Factory opens in East Vancouver to support the growing Oxygen8 team, the increasing demand, and an even faster pace of growth.
The first Terra unit ships, extending Oxygen8’s 100% outside air offerings. Later, Ventum+ H/ERV follows, adding heating, cooling, and dehumidification in a modular system.
Over 100 employees gather for Oxygen8’s third offsite in Vancouver. A moment to recognize how far the company has come, and the scale it has reached.
Oxygen8 takes on a larger presence at AHR 2024 in Chicago, continuing to build visibility and strengthen its role within the industry.
Ventum and Ventum+ achieve Passive House certification, meeting a recognized benchmark for performance in high-efficiency buildings.
Oxygen8 is named Company of the Year – Scale at the BC Tech Technology Impact Awards. A milestone that marks the company’s first major award.
Oxygen8 moves into a 106,000 sq. ft. facility in South Burnaby to support the next phase of growth.
2026 defines the next chapter, as Oxygen8 is recognized for growth and impact across the industry. With over 200 Oxygen8ers and thousands of units in the field, the focus remains on what’s next...
