Our Story
Two entrepreneurs. One fresh idea.
In 2019, James Dean and Matthew Doherty reconnected over a shared passion — the future of indoor air quality. James had just sold his energy recovery technology business to a European HVAC company. Matthew had spent years introducing innovative European air-handling units to the North American market. Together, they saw something the industry was missing.
They identified four emerging trends: the electrification of buildings, the rise of super-insulated construction, urbanization driving the need for low-profile indoor HVAC, and growing awareness of the link between healthy air and human health. Their answer was Oxygen8 – a line of all-electric, decentralized, energy-recovering ventilation solutions that deliver fresh outside air to every space, without the ductwork, rooftop equipment, or energy waste of traditional HVAC systems.
